From hidden eastern forests, to vast western deserts, Photonic Bliss has been in the business of rewriting realities and teaching human senses to experience environments that were once outside possibility. Brian Pinkham and Pete Silva have been pushing the envelope of interactive, full-spectrum lighting and sensory technology for years, in an attempt to awaken human souls to their own divine creative moment.

Commissioned in June 2009, The Fluoro Forest ™ must have been a dream we and Avatar director, James Cameron, had simulatneously. That is, a natural alien forest where everything is alive, interactive and illuminated. The installation consisted of UV LED nodes and fluorescent materials grafted onto a natural thicket of trees. From a distance it glows softly, luring people in to explore. As one’s presence is detected in the Forest, it comes to life, triggering light and sound effects, somehow communicating with the visitors.
