This year for South by Southwest, Resonate Studios and PhotonicBliss partnered to create an full on experience of light sound and vibration for BandPage HQ. This was hands down the most epic venue at SxSW. It was an amazing experience that tested the limits of what can be created in just a few weeks time with the right crews… Success!

The in early March PhotonicBliss traveled down to Uvita Costa Rica to share out illumination with Envision Festival 2012. We were a part of this amazing gathering last year as well and were blessed to get to play and create in the jungle again with the amazing and world class Envision Crew. For this event we Re-United the Holosphere team from Burning Man, and teamed up with the Discovery Channel to resurrect our Galactic Dome and hold it down as the spiritual and transformational center for the event.

The experience we created was a 44′ geodesic dome completely covered in addressable RGB LEDs a with a beautiful CNC cut lotus gate creating the entrance portal to the dome. Inside, holds a 360° projection system which turns the entire dome ceiling into a giant immersive display. With this, we are able to experimentally transport people to anywhere here we like, be it exploring the galaxy and te far reached of space in real time, exploring beautiful and vivid landscapes all around the world, or even going ton a visionary journey through the depths of the mind. The inside of the dome is a pristine white environment full of incredibly comfy bean bag chairs and reclining memory foam benches to lay down on and enjoy the journey. The benches a use a vibroacoustic technology to translate sound frequencies into subsonic physical vibration, allowing you to physically feel sound you are hearing.

The weekend was a massive success and to top it off it all off, on Sunday night we had the privilege of having The Glitch Mob play in the dome and they absolutely rocked the house!

The task was to create an LED installation which would draw people in to their tradeshow booth and simultaneously feature their product (an innovative suction-based iPad/tablet. What was birthed as a result was a galactic LED representation of the Octa logo with negative pressure sensors embedded into it to measure the suction created by Octas suction docks which would create beautiful pulses of light in response the how much pressure was being created by their product.

The piece was constructed using extruded plexiglass tubing custom cut and sandblasted to elegantly diffuse the independently controllable LED lighting. The top of the table was a gorgeous piece of 3/4″ clear acrylic CNC machined out to fit the tubes, and a CNC milled mirror acrylic base which would reflect the lighting and allowing anyone looking into the table to be able to see their reflection.

This weekend we unveiled the Universal Vagina of Light, an incredible representation of the Divine Feminine and the path to Unity. This piece was envisioned and birthed by the amazing Meredith Brown and we had the honor of bestowing our light upon it!
